The SIROWA Riga Dental Clinic Dentists are Participating at Sientific Project

"SIROWA  Riga/Tallinn/Vilnius, in cooperation with the world leader in production of biomaterials Geistlich Biomaterials, will launch an international project with the participation of dentists from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, who will document the cases describing treatment of the extraction socket wounds using the biomaterials produced by Geistlich - Extraction Socket Treatment Project.

The aim of the project is to facilitate care for extraction socket wounds in the dental clinics of the Baltic states with the use of biomaterials and to find examples of the most successful techniques when after extraction of the teeth an insertion of dental implants is planned. It is crucial to preserve the alveolar ridge after dental extraction in order to avoid obvious bone defect that would in the long run inconvenience the process of restoring the lost tooth. Aesthetics has become the principal focus of contemporary implantology, as functionality has become a matter-of-course standard. Large numbers of dental extraction cases become the first phase before insertion of the dental implant. The duration of the therapy course and the costs thereof may be to a large extent affected by the dental extraction, as well as quality and principle of the extraction socket wound care. Experience exchange and cooperation between the dentists of the Baltic states will be facilitated within the framework of the Extraction Socket project, as a result of which a methodology for coping with different extraction circumstances will be established."
